WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF DICE INFLUENCE
Congratulations on making the decision to take control away from the casinos at the craps tables and put that control into your own hands!!
Being the only game in the casino that allows you to take part in the game by rolling the dice yourself, advanced craps players (called Precision Shooters) use ‘Dice Control’, or more accurately ‘Dice Influence’ anytime they’re at the tables to influence the outcomes of their dice rolls. The ability to influence the outcome of dice rolls is also called ‘Precision Shooting’.
Though there are many, many betting possibilities in the game of craps, the safest bets are, luckily, fairly simple. The simplest, most fundamental bet in the game of craps, the pass bet, is also one of the very safest, with a low house edge of 1.41%. Pass bets pay even money - in other words, if you bet $10, you win $10. In the best case scenario, a good betting strategy will enable craps players to steadily, though gradually, increase the size of their bankrolls while enjoying themselves at the craps table. Of course, as is usually the case with sticking to any pattern, betting strategically involves a good amount of persistence and discipline.
DOES THE HOUSE EDGE IN CRAPS WORK IN YOUR FAVOR?
While all games in the casino have a house edge that favors the casino, craps is one of the games with the lowest house edge available to the player. It only takes slight variations in the outcomes of the dice rolls to make a big difference in building your bankroll. As your skill develops, and your signature numbers become more defined, you’ll be able to tip the probabilities, and therefore the house edge, significantly in your favor.
DOES DICE CONTROL (DICE INFLUENCE) ACTUALLY WORK?
There’s been a lot of debate over the years, as to whether or not Dice Control or Dice Influence is even possible at the craps tables. Most of the skeptics typically quote anecdotal theories, mathematical probabilities, or ironically, point to the steps casinos have taken to negate the affects of Precision Shooters. (Now why would the casinos spend all that money to negate something that isn’t possible?)
Now there are studies and mathematicians that confirm ‘Dice Control’ possibilities around influencing the outcomes of dice rolls. Inside Science published an article on the tests they conducted that demonstrated that even just setting the dice in a consistent fashion altered the probabilities in outcomes in a statistically significant way.
Additionally, a noted mathematician, Sanford Wong, who has primarily done a lot of work around blackjack probabilities, tested the ‘Dice Influence’ process and concluded that, with practice, a craps player could alter the probabilities of the game in the player’s favor.
IS ‘DICE INFLUENCE’ EASY TO LEARN?
Yes, Dice Influence is easy to learn, but executing the process with consistency takes several months of committed practice. Similar to learning how to pitch in baseball, learning how to do it, is easy, executing it so you hit the strike zone and strike out the batter takes committed practice.
The great news about dice influence is, you don’t need to reach the level of a professional sports athlete to flip the probabilities in your favor. With the low house edge afforded at the craps tables, even slight variations in the dice outcomes can produce significant results.
HOW DO I BECOME A PRECISION SHOOTER?
There are a number of components to learn in becoming a Precision Shooter. Each of them has it’s own purpose and role within the dice toss. Executed together, with consistency, is critical to the development of your ability to influence the dice.
Again, think about the baseball pitcher. The position of the ball in the glove, where and how the fingers are placed across the threads, the wind up, the delivery, the follow through all are a part of executing a successful pitch. Its the same with influencing the dice in craps.
Additionally, we teach Precision Shooting to influence the dice a little differently than a lot of the information that’s out there. Many teach different grips, stances, and more to achieve different results at the tables. We believe it’s easier to learn ONE toss method that’s right for you and then only use slight variations in position to achieve different outcomes.
THE COMPONENTS OF DICE INFLUENCE
Below are each of the components that a Precision Shooter utilizes to influence the dice and rake in profits from the casino. For more detailed information on each of the components and start your journey to becoming a Precision Shooter, just click the title of the component you want to view.
- Dice sets refer to the way dice are positioned prior to gripping and tossing them. The number on top and in front of each of the die will be a determining factor in the outcome of your dice rolls. Believe it or not, there are a total of 576 different ways the dice can be set, but you don’t have to learn them all. There are only several dice sets to practice with, and when you develop consistency in your throw, there are formulas to use to determine which dice sets are best to use during the ‘come-out’ roll and those best to use after the point has been established. Click here for more information.
- Once the dice sets are determined, the next important component is ‘The Grip’. How you pick up the dice so that you can keep the dice set in the correct position and deliver a well executed toss is really the beginning of the dice throw. Learning to execute the dice sets and grips correctly and quickly will help to avoid slowing the game down and keep the dealers from trying to hurry you up. Click here for more information.
- The toss is where most of your training and practice time will be spent. To deliver consistent results, the dice need to travel through the air to the other side of the table, spinning simultaneously, while staying together until they gently land on the table with minimum force and bounce. Executing a ‘Controlled Toss’ correctly involves performing several intertwined components successfully and consistently. This is where most give up their quest to become a Precision Shooter because when you first start, it may feel impossible for you to do. You’ll be surprised, with some continued practice, how quickly you’ll learn to execute this successfully. Click here for more information.
- Here’s another area where our training and guidance differs from most of the popular instruction out there. Most teach you to use either positions 1 or 2 to the right or left of the stick. Being that craps tables are not all the same length requires you to alter the distance of your throw when you get to the casino and that difference can lead to very different outcomes. It’s much better, and leads to more consistency, to find the distance from the back wall that works best for you and position yourself to use the same distance toss as your practice sessions. Click here for more information.
- No different than a relief pitcher taking the mound and throwing ‘warm up’ pitches, so should you when you take the dice for the first time at the table. We’ll discuss what to do and how to do it, as well as the right betting strategy to use during your warm up so you can assess the table and adjust your throw to match before putting real money at risk. ADDITIONAL TOPICS
There are two topics that I’ve never seen covered when discussing the steps necessary to becoming a Precision Shooter and maximizing your profits at the casino.
- The actual ‘Practice Steps’ involved, what to master before moving the next component, and the tools necessary to shorten the time from start to developing a consistent and effective toss that you can use at the casino, and
- The ‘Betting Strategies’ to use that are matched to your particular signature numbers based on the advantage you’ve developed over the standard probabilities.
We’ll touch on them here, so that you’ll have everything you need to become an effective Precision Shooter and begin your journey to flipping the tables on the casino.
- Utilizing a ‘step process’ to learning the art and science of becoming a Precision Shooter is the best way to shorten the timeline to rewards at the craps table. Because each of the components is intertwined, it is important to master one component before moving on the next. Additionally, there are certain tools you’re going to want to use along with your training that we’ll cover in detail. We’ll walk you through each so you get the most out of your training in the most efficient way. Click here for more information.
- It makes no sense to bet the (6) and (8) if your signature numbers are (5) and (9). We’ll help you determine your best betting strategy to use dependent on your individual outcomes, how defined your signature numbers are, you’re statistical advantage over the casino and your risk and bankroll tolerance. Aside from learning the skills of a Precision Shooter, your betting strategy is the next most important component to raking in profits from the casino. Click here for more information.
Something that probably should have been mentioned earlier, if you’re new to craps, you should learn the basics of the game and have a good understanding of odds, payouts, and house edge before taking on the commitment to becoming a Precision Shooter. You can learn more about these topics in the Beginner and Intermediate sections of this site.
Good luck in your quest to become a Precision Shooter! I think you’ll find it both emotionally and financially rewarding.

Advanced Craps Bets
Before getting into how you may want to structure your play at the Craps table, there are some advanced Craps bets you should know about. Here’s a selection of many advanced Craps bets utilized at the tables.
Place Bets
A place bet is made on outcomes, more specifically individual numbers, to be rolled prior to a 7 being rolled by the shooter, after the point has been established. In the case the bet remains on the table, as opposed to a one-time wager, it is referred to as a working bet. As a result, the player will get a payout each time that number is rolled before a 7, so long as the wager remains on the table. The actual number the place bet is assigned to will determine the payout. The bet loses when a 7 is rolled, or the shooter sevens-out.
Buy/Lay Bets
A Buy bet can be considered a Place bet. All the rules that apply to the bet are essentially the same, only the payout can be significantly higher. As a result, it is common for the house to take what is called a commission.
A Lay bet functions as the opposite of a Buy bet and places a wager on the shooter to seven-out before the point number I rolled. It will, in many cases, also come with a casino commission on any payout.
Big Bets
Big bets are high-risk, high-reward bets. For instance, Big 6 and Big 8 bets are very specific wagers placed on a 6 and 8, respectively, being rolled before a 7.
Hardway Bets
Hardways put a prediction on the shooter’s roll being a double before a 7 is rolled. A double is an identical combination on the dice, such as two 2s, two 3s, and so on.
Field Bets
These wagers are settled on the roll after the bet has been placed on the table. When it comes to field bets, a loss is the result whenever a 5, 6, 7, or 8 are rolled. Any other number rolled is a win and the player will receive a payout for their wager. The payout varies depending on which number is rolled. You can find out more on this bet’s payout in our craps odds and payout resource.
Next Roll Bets
These bets are very straight forward and make a simple prediction that the next roll of the dice will be a given number. Many of these bets have colloquial names when placed at brick and mortar casinos, which make it difficult for newer players to incorporate into their game. If supported at the tables of your chosen online casino, these wagers will be appropriately labelled or provided with their own position on the betting field. Some you may encounter or wish to incorporate include:
- Hi-Lo – A wager the next roll will be a 2 or 12.
- Any 7 – A wager the next roll will be a 7.
- Any 11 / Yo – A wager the next roll will be an 11.
- Ace Deuce – A wager the next roll will be a 3.
- Aces – A wager the next roll will be a 2.
- AnyCraps / Three Way – A wager the next roll will be a 2, 3, or 12.
- Boxcar – A wager the next roll will be a 12.
C & E
Craps Betting Strategies On 500 Bankroll
This wager is a combination of two net roll bets. The C & E wager places half the total wager on the next roll being a Craps (2-3-12) and the other half on a Yo (11).
Horn
Another combination wager that incorporates multiple next roll bets, a Horn places four separate bets on 2, 3, 11, and 12. The payout depends on which number is rolled with 2 paying out the highest. You can find those exact returns in our Craps odds and payouts resource.
Whirl / World
Craps Betting Strategies Youtube
A combination wager that utilizes both the Any 7 and Horn bets. You can consider this type of wager is a hedge to mitigate losses on the shooter’s next roll, paying out at different rates depending what other number is the result with 2 paying out the highest.
On The Hop
This is a simple wager that predicts the two numbers that will appear on the dice on the next roll.
Advanced Craps Betting Strategy
While it goes without saying you should never abandon your foundational Come, Don’t Come and Pass, Don’t Pass bets, there is something to be said about knowing how to most effectively utilize the low house edge that Craps presents players.
5-Count Craps Strategy
This approach to the game of craps is calm and collected. So, if you are looking for high excitement and constant thrills, this won’t be the best approach for your next game. Place your bets with purpose and you’ll have a significantly improved chance of coming out on top for any given roll. The purpose of this strategy is to remain patient and stay on top the outcome with a count. You follow the count progression like this:
- Count 0 – The come out roll is a count 0. Which remains at zero until a point is established.
- Count 1 – After the point has been established, the count moves to one. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12, the count remains at 0.
- Count 2, 3, and 4 – Add a count every time the dice are rolled after the point has been established. This can be any number.
- Count 5 – After you’ve reached count 4 the shooter has to roll a point number of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. Once that has happened, you advance to count 5 and proceed to betting Pass and Come bets, or Don’t Pass and Don’t Come bets. Add taking/buying and laying odds if you have the money and feel comfortable with it. Steer clear of proposition and next roll bets to ensure you don’t lose funds needlessly.
Avoiding Bad Bets
As a rule of thumb, one can assume that the higher the odds climb for a given action in Craps, the higher the markup will be from the house’s end. Single number predictions are what casinos like to see. These are longshot bets that players pick for their substantial payouts. Hard Way and Field bets fall into this category. Snake Eyes, a roll of two 1s, is popular but one of the worst bets you can make, since it has a 14% house advantage.
Classic Regression
With this approach to the game of Craps, you are trying to achieve a profit on a single action. For this strategy to work, the point must be established. After the point has been established, you will put down two wagers. One on 6 and one on 8. After the shooter hits either, go down one unit on both 6 and 8 outcomes.
At this point, you are up and won’t lose to a crap out. You have your original two bets active as working bets. Once a second hit takes place, wait for the point or a 7 to be rolled, then start over. The edge behind this strategy is the fact that there are 10 combined ways to create a 6 and 8 and only 6 ways to create a 7.
Three Point Molly
In Three Point Molly, you want to maintain three numbers working in your favor at all times. Start off by placing a Pass Line wager and back it up with a single or double odds bet. Place a Come Line wager backed by single or double odds, as well. When a come bet wins, place another and repeat the process until the point or a 7 is rolled.
With this strategy, a come bet insulates your original Pass Line wager, giving you the advantage in the event of a hot series of rolls.
Anything But Seven
Best Craps Betting Strategies
In an Anything But Seven scenario, you are trying to win with a roll resulting in anything but a 7. In order for this to work to peak efficiency, one should not wager with intent until the point has been established. After that, put down two bets on 5, 6, and 8 with one additional wager placed on the Field.
In this strategy, you are taking a high-risk, but garnering larger payouts for hitting your predictions, even more if a 2 or 12 are hit. Ride the gravy train for three rolls since the average shooter craps out at 4 to 6 rolls.
Big 6/8
In Big 6 and Big 8 strategies, you are trying to make a profit on a couple hits. This is usually enacted one roll after the point has been established. At that point, players should make a Pass Line or Don’t Pass Line wager. Place bets on both 6 and 8. After either is rolled, put a wager down on Inside. After the next hit, you’ll take down the 5 and 9. Stay with it for three more rolls and then take down the 6 and 8. If by the fourth roll the point, 6 or 8 have not been rolled, take down all wagers, as the odds are stacking higher against you with each consecutive roll that follows.
Combination Regressive and Pressing
“In this scenario, you are covering your initial investment with earnings from smart bets and letting anything additional to that ride as play continues.”
Best Way To Play Craps And Win
This play follows Big 6/8 play initially. After the point has been established, put wagers down on 6 and 8 with an additional wager on Inside after the first hit. After the second hit, take down your bets on 5 and 9. On the third hit, put 5 and 9’s wager back up. On the fourth hit of the game, press on both 6 and 8. When the fifth hit takes place, start again at step one and repeat the process.
